Grand Knight's Message
Brothers,
We had some great events again in January 2012. Two of the events were back to back (Holy Innocents 1st degree and the blood drive). On January 18th as usual our 1st degree team did an outstanding job. It was my pleasure to be a part of the team as warden. My job was to sit with the candidates in the chamber. This was enlightening and I really created a bond with them in the short time I spent with the candidates in the chamber. The blood drive a day later on January 19th showed its steady flow of blood donors. Thank you to all that came out to donate blood.
In January the St Patrick’s Dance showed progression in its planning as event chairmen met with the AmVets to finalize some details. Brother George McKay is chairing the St Patrick’s Dance. Please contact him if you are able to help with the event, buy tickets or donate prizes for the auction. The event will be held on March 3rd 2012.
Without fail Christian Knoebel ran his quarterly Rosary Sunday on January 29th 2012. We say the rosary when there is a 5th Sunday in a month between the 9:30 AM and 10AM masses at St. Monica. Christian has done a great job with this event. I recommend you come out for the next rosary Sunday on April 29th 2012.
A 2nd degree will be held at our council on February 7th 2012. Please come out to support brothers in their journey to full knighthood. If you need to complete your 2nd degree, please contact Santo Cultrara PGK, PFN, FDD.
Our semi-annual audit is due by February 15th 2012. We have a meeting on February 10th 2012 to process the audit so we can submit it on time.
One of my goals as grand Knight was to come up with a packet for all brothers in our council to have so they know some of the details of the council as well as any pertinent processes that brothers should be aware of. If I am unable to complete this by the end of my term I will follow through until it is complete. Having this packet for the brothers will be another way to keep our members well informed.
Recently I sent an e-mail out stating that my e-mail address has changed to pschell1230@gmail.com. Please make a note of it for your records.
Lastly there are more fields on our web site that Knights can complete. Updating or reviewing your information will ensure we have accurate information for you. The information is password protected so you need not worry about confidential information. You must first log in to the Knights web site at http://www.kofc11529.org in order to update your information and fill in the additional areas. Business fields (for a business network) were added as well as others. This information can be used by the Grand Knight and other Knights can look up your business information. I look forward for positive changes to our web site in months to come.
Thank you all for all your hard work and help. God Bless and I hope to see you at the 2nd degree, a meeting, an event or at church!
Paul Schell, Grand Knight
